The Heindel Award is a recognition presented to a member of the cast and production teams for each production. An early member of the founding group “Latter-Day Sounds”, Judy Heindel illustrated all of the posters and program covers. In 1978, the first President of the organization, Chris Hart, started the tradition of framing a poster, having the cast/ensemble/production team sign it, and presenting it to someone who had significantly contributed to the efforts of producing that show. The award was named after Judy Heindel in honor of it being her work initially being presented to the recipient.
